I’m alone on this crowded train Yet I’m next to my love. The day has grown old again Home beckons as the shadows long. We walked the park full of strangers with their loves distracted. I wondered, are they here or there? Where do they wish to be? Alas my love too is captured by glass Scrolling away this embrace. I feel his warmth now in my grasp His stare is cold, blank. If I blink, the moment is lost Never to get it back. Has he counted the cost To feed on what distracts? What is it you see? What is it you want? What is it you need? I will give it freely! Why waist love by your side? Let’s conquer the world! Or take it all in stride. Together, let’s just be You and me.
Has someone you loved been too distracted to see you?
